Financing the Future: Education 2030
Wednesday, September 20, 2017 | 10.45 – 13.00
United Nations Headquarters, ECOSOC Chambers
Current levels of investment in education are critically low. To reach the global goal of education for all, the world must increase financing for education and ensure those funds are delivering results. But this is a problem we know how to solve. The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and Education Cannot Wait (ECW) are fit-for-purpose vehicles for international investment. The Education Commission’s proposed International Finance Facility for Education (IFFEd) stands to unlock new and additional funding necessary to help close the gap in international funding. And through committed leaders in the global north and south alike we have champions who can deliver.
This year’s UNGA presents a vital window of opportunity to reposition education at the center of the political agenda where it belongs. Tune in and help spread the word as world leaders step up to #FundEducation at a high-level event, Financing the Future: Education 2030, taking place in New York at 11:00am on September 20.
