Refugees rights

For its second annual report on the European borders, Migreurop has chosen to emphasize three main steps of the fights led by the authorities against the candidates to migration : the controls of their movements, detention and deportation.

Based on evidences from fact finding missions, the report gives dramatic examples of this war against migrants which implies a general decline of the law protecting the freedom and integrity of human beings.

On October 5, The European Commission and Libya signed a migration cooperation agenda, including concrete steps on border surveillance systems, mobility-related issues, smuggling and trafficking in human beings, and dialogue on refugees and international protection.e

In northern Yemen, thousands will spend Ramadan away from home, some for the second time or more. Harsh weather is adding to the everyday difficulties faced by internally displaced people (IDPs) and residents affected by the last round of fighting that ended in February 2010.

Frontex's report Annual
Risk Analysis (ARA) for 2010.pdf
was prepared in March 2010 and was posted to the Frontex web site on 7 July. The public document only contains certain portions of the full ARA as recommendations and other "operationally sensitive details" have been redacted. While some of the ARA's contents have previously been released by Frontex, this 35 page document contains a lot of data regarding irregular migration by land, sea, and air, and is worth a read.
