Sunday, February 6, 2011, thousands of men, women, youth and children from social movements, networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations around the world marched through the streets of Dakar on the occasion of the grand march Opening the World Social Forum.

World Forum on Education in Palestine : "Education as prerequisite for Human Development; the challenges of peoples under occupation"

The world education forum will be held in Palestine from 28th till the 30th of October, 2010 as a part of the World Social Forum. Due to the regional situation activists and organizations from the Arab region are restrained from participation in the forum in Palestine, therefore there will be a parallel forum in Lebanon.

The Health and Environment forum is to be held in Cairo on the 23rd and 25th October 2010. Despite overall improvements in health across the Arab region, gross inequities remain between and within countries. In addition, the consequences of global warming are likely to disproportionately affect the poor and their lives and livelihoods.

At the forum on Social movement for Morocco and the Maghreb/Machrek region held in Bouznika from March 5th– 7th, 2010, the e-joussour team got a chance to interview Mr. Muhammed Hilaluddin from Bangladesh, one of the keynote speakers at the forum.
