Climate change conference starts
The UN's annual climate change summit, COP16 will run from Nov 29 - December 10, continuing to seek a follow-on agreement for the Kyoto Protocol, which will expire in 2012. Last year's COP15 meeting was in Copenhagen. The Cancun meeting is not expected to have the same high profile attendance from world leaders.
Interview with Mr. Muhammed Hilaluddin: A humanist and social activist with a strong belief in social movement
At the forum on Social movement for Morocco and the Maghreb/Machrek region held in Bouznika from March 5th– 7th, 2010, the e-joussour team got a chance to interview Mr. Muhammed Hilaluddin from Bangladesh, one of the keynote speakers at the forum. Mr. Muhammed is a professor and researcher, and also plays a key role in the Bangladesh social forum. The following is what Mr. Muhammed shared with us:
Interview with Palestinian women activist: struggling for equality, women’s rights and freedom
At the forum on Social movement for Morocco and the Maghreb/Machrek region held in Bouznika from March 5th– 7th, 2010, e-joussour team got a chance to interview two young women activist from Palestine who had travelled from a far distance to share their stories, experiences and to raise their voices at this social forum. Hanin Nassar and Ruba Odeh have been working for the Union of Palestinian Women Committee. The following is what they shared with us:
