Social Movements

The Network for Women's Rights to the Collective and Guiche Lands is
organising a sit-in to be held on Friday, 2 July 2010 at 5pm in front
of Parliament. The sit-in will be composed of Soulaliyate and Guichiate
women protesting the obstacles and determined opposition that the women
continue to encounter in their fight for equal rights.

On 23 June 2010 FMAS (Alternative Moroccan Forum), the ADFM (Democratic Association of Moroccan Women) and TAOD (Associated Network for the Development of Ouarzazate) organised at Ouarzazate a seminar to consider the subject of “collective lands and development”.

CARIM Overview of Migration Developments in Libya

CARIM just issued a short paper, Libya: The Migration Scene - Which implications for migrants and refugees?: "In the light of UNHCR's announcement of the 8th of June 2010 that it was requested to close its offices in Libya, CARIM provides an overview of migration developments in Libya from sociopolitical, legal and demographic-economic perspectives."

In the run up to the World Social Forum of 2011 in Dakar and following the proposal of the Social Movement’s Assembly Seminar held in Sao Paulo 21-23 January 2010 that a similar seminar take place in Dakar, a meeting was organised on Saturday, May 29th, 2010 in the Amadou Gaye Sociocultural Centre in Dakar.
