Description
Presentation, history and objectives: 

AIN Mission is to create alternative zones for artistic and cultural expression for people. AIN started in 2005 by a group of artists and volunteers interested in organizing and promoting cultural development initiatives. The goals and objectives of AIN is to build the cultural and artistic capacities of young people by creating lternative spaces to realize their cultural and artistic potential, disseminating knowledge, reinforcing solidarity, networking, collaboration and cooperation with all local communities, national and international civil organizations and promoting arts and culture as a way of life!

Achievements: 

AIN organize activities for women, youth and children within communities including training seminars and workshops, participates in exhibitions, festivals, and shows as well as sponsors culutal initative and work carried out by local artists. Among AIN acheivements over the last 2 years is promoting the work of Burhan Alawya works, facilitating the production of JARJARA, a documentary on the fishermen community in TYRE and the sponsorship of a short movie entitled Bilbal. Last but not least, AIN also responded to the humanitarian needs of families in South Lebanon during the ISRAELI war on Lebanon in July 2006 by providing assistance and support to over 600 families.

Structure and staff: 

AIN is a voluntary organization. Its Board of Director is composed of 7 members who meet on annual basis and an executive committee responsible for organizing initiatives. Its work is based on its members and their initiative. To join AIN, members have express interest in AIN and be willing to participate in its initiative. AIN encourages women participation at all levels within the organization including to be Board of Directors and current Executive Committee as well as membership list and volunteers. It emphasizes youth action and participation.
